Department of Defense
Edgesource provides IT healthcare solutions in support of the Department of Defense (DoD). Our IT practitioners’ understanding of the IT healthcare space enabled Edgesource to deliver exceptional support and earned us the Medical Information Service Team of the Year several times. Our work includes improving Health Information Exchange (HIE) efforts, medical data analytics and data migration, and cyber security support. We delivered Health IT solutions to meet information technology mission requirements in support of providing comprehensive health services to America's military via the DoD Air Force (AF) 6th Medical Group MacDill Air Force Base Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), servicing over 106,000 beneficiaries.
Edgesource helped implement the clinic relocation in support of a new hospital at MacDill. We planned and executed the migration and relocation of over $5 million worth of application and network resources, providing the IT services for over 800 daily end-users, and guaranteeing the availability of mission critical information systems of the MacDill MTF patient population in only 72 hours. Innovative improvements Edgesource made included the development and deployment of the Patient Check-in System built to run on kiosks in the waiting room of the hospital clinics and we revamped the Medical Provider’s On-Call System. These improvements saved hundreds of man-hours of work per year.
Health and Human Services
For the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Edgesource designs and develops role-based cyber security training content across the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) program offices. Our work positively impacts the integrity and ability of the FDA to meet its regulatory mission. Edgesource works closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and his program staff to build a curriculum supporting FDA executives, administrators, and staff. Our content demonstrates how best to protect data and repel security attacks from outside entities. We engage with subject matter experts from across the FDA and help them achieve the highest level of security by creating an acute awareness among the FDA staff regarding cyber threats. Courses include improving the security posture and knowledge of Executives, Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) and Information Technology Administrators. Each course is customized for its particular audience and incorporates FISMA, NIST and FDA rules, regulations and standards.
