Alexandria, VA — December 15, 2025 — Edgesource today announced it has been selected as a qualifying awardee under the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract—part of the national “Golden Dome” initiative. The 10-year vehicle carries a ceiling of $151 billion supporting homeland missile defense capabilities.

“Participation on SHIELD positions Edgesource to bring our mission-driven engineering, AI/ML, and UAS expertise to urgent missile-defense challenges,” said Chris Lansburgh, CEO. “We’re ready to partner across government and industry to accelerate mission capability with speed, rigor, and innovation.”

Areas of expertise and experience where Edgesource will compete under SHIELD:

  • 2.2 R&D — applied research & mission prototyping
  • 2.3 Prototyping — rapid build, integrate, iterate
  • 2.4 Studies/Demos/Prototype Testing — prove performance, inform decisions
  • 2.5 Disruptive Technologies — AI/ML, autonomy, novel sensing
  • 2.6 Experimentation — field/user trials, feedback loops
  • 2.7 Architecture Development — open systems, digital engineering, MBSE
  • 2.11 Integration & Assembly — system integration, lab/field bring-up
  • 2.17 Data Mining/Collection/Analysis — real-time pipelines & analytics
  • 2.19 Cybersecurity — secure-by-design, ATO support, continuous hardening

Under SHIELD, MDA and related DoD entities can rapidly solicit and award task orders across a broad set of technologies and integration efforts aligned with the Golden Dome construct. Performance is anticipated nationwide through December, 2035.
